I am trying to research the effect of using coloured gels with lightsurces and the associated use of coulored inks on posters.

The requirement is to have words seemingly reveal themselves, or, convsrsely, 'disappear' when subjected to a light source with corresponding or other colours. For example, I may be able to have images in red and green on a plain page of paper and by using red or green gels on my lightsouce, have the red image disappear whilst using the red gel, yet have the green image appear grey in contrast. Vice versa with the other image/gel combination. Can anybody advise if there are published methods/schemes as to how I can achieve similar results with a wide variety of colours, or, is it down to experimenting and a lot of time to find the optimum results?
