Historical Paint Colors ... Archives?

    Greetings,

I'm researching the colors used on plantation housing in Hawaii(dating back to the early 29th century). I found purchase orders dated 1939 and 1940 for Fuller paint "Light Grey" "Kekaha Dark Green"stain and "Indian Red" floor enamel. When I contacted the Fuller lab, two people told me that they no longer have the formulas. After ICI purchased the Fuller, they threw them out. Does anyone know of how I might proceed? Is there any historical archive for paint formulas?
