I tend to question some of the information put forth by Wikipedia, as their batting average is good but not infallible. However, in this case they back me up, as you'll see if you read further down the page. And thank you for pointing me there, as it answers the question that's been plaguing me night and day, namely, why the misuse of the term 'tertiary'? Answer: the traditional usage has changed, and that which was once called an 'intermediary color' is called a'tertiary' in contemporary usage.
